Tech

 At tech I worked with Jakson, We made buritos, Because we were learning about mexico. The buritos cooked perfectly in the oven, Break time came and I hung out with my friends we played with the skipping ropes. Next we had wood work we had to saw our frame things. 

Pink shirt day.

 Today was pink shirt day. Almost everyone came to school in mufti. At morning tea we went outside to do cross country.

My group was the last group to run around the school, I walked around the long course with Aliana three times. After the break I went down to the little kids class and ate my lunch when their cross country started. Not long after their cross country finished we had to go to the other classes/areas where we had to do activities.

I heard the huffing and puffing of the other kids as they ran past me. I felt the cold air breezing through my hair. I felt my heartbeat increase as I ran around the school.

I was feeling lonely running along the long fence line, I felt the cold breeze wrapping around my knees as I ran around the track, Pitter patter went the feet as I caught up to the rest of the group, The wind was as cold as ice as i ran through the freezing cold conditions, I ran past the abandoned cold wet playground and felt the cold air puncturing my lungs, I tried ignoring the pain but it was as painful as a punch, I had caught up to my friend Aliana who had told me it was Cold as a dogs nose, We ran around for the second time, Aliana said that Maia is a cheetah, Aliana and I had caught up to Maia and we all ran together, “Im freezing” Said one of the kids as I ran past them.

A cold frozen teardrop poured from the sky as I looked up at the cold weather. “It's raining cats and dogs!” said Aliana as we ran around the track another time.

This term in maths I have been learning about BEDMAS.

BEDMAS is (Brakcets) Exponents, Division, Muultiplication, Addition, Subtraction, BEDMAS is also called the order of operations.

Examples

2+3x3=11

2+4 + (6-4)=12

Exponents.

(Also called to the power of)

10 sqaured = 10x10=100

and so on...

2 squared = 2x2

3 squared = 3x3

4 squared = 4x4

5 sqaured = 5x5

6 squared = 6x6

7 squared = 7x7

8 squared = 8x8

Grandma and grandad moved to NZ to settle down. They had travelled all over the world for grandad's job (Mum's side) and decided NZ was a good place to live and have a family.

Grandma and grandad came by plane and they came to NZ with nothing but a chest full of things.

Grandad came from Switzerland. He moved with Grandma who came from the Cook islands.

Grandma and grandad came here in 1983. We haved lived all over the country and stayed in Auckland from 1989.

We have a huge family tree and our family is predominantly kiwi (Dad’s side)

And Cook island swiss (Mum's side) Mum’s family spans most parts of the world dating back to the late 1700s.

They moved here because it was a compromise for mums parents and mums dads job was here and all over NZ

I have always lived in Christchurch, Mum lived in Christchurch, Dunedin, Auckland and Queenstown.

Tech

At tech we do cooking this week we made pizza from scratch, The pizza cooked well in the oven and we had to eat it in the classroom because she said so. Next we had wood work we had to draw these 3D shapes, When everyone was finished the class moved on to key tags, I finished one of my keytags and started on onother one.

It was a early Saturday morning as I walked along the hot dry roadside to get to the beach, I heard the ‘CRASH’ as the cold waves collided with the warm sandy shore.

I ran toward the salty blue waves, I felt the cold water on my legs, As the hot sun shone among the dark clouds turning them into fluffy white clouds. I picked up one of the warm shiny seashells off of the warm decorated sand. I then place the warm shell on a tall elegant sand castle. I finished my sand castle it looked amazing with all the different coloured shiny seashells and the light brown pieces of driftwood, I stood on the well decorated sand castle I threw the hot driftwood into the cold blue ocean, I walked further down the beach, Just lying right there on the hot golden sand was dried out piece of seaweed, Snap went the seaweed as I broke it into small delicate pieces, I continued walking along the warm beach, I saw a big red and white boat floating there in the water, The sail was high up in the sky I stared for a short while, The running up to me was a big golden dog, The dog greeted me with a smile then ran away into the distance.

I started heading back up the warm beach with the big bright sun shining in my eyes. I saw the big red and white boat but this time the sail wasn’t up, I saw the broken pieces of driftwood and I saw my destroyed sand castle. It was starting to get dark. I went up the dunes and along the sidewalk all the way home.

 This term we have been learning about graphs (Mostly bar graphs) we have had to make drafts and collect data for the graphs. It doesnt matter being a girl or a boy effects the amount of houses youve lived in

My Similie/Metaphor story

 On a Wednesday morning the sun was shining. It was hot outside, Maia was looking at the bright sun shining in the big blue sky. The sun was so warm as warm as a blanket. Soon after Maia finished looking at the sun she went to go play on the playground, While Maia was playing on the playground she saw her friend Aliana and then they started playing tag. After the bell rang they ran as fast as a cheetah to class. They ate lunch and got straight into work. They were busy bees doing their work in literacy too.

Maths.

 This term I was put into a new maths group, I am in Sharon’s math group this term, We have been learning about graphs. 

The main graph I am working on is bar graphs and tally charts.
