Formal

On Tuesday the year 8s of Rawhiti had a formal evening. In the evening we were all welcomed into the hall, when you came in the hall you had to take a photo individually or in your friend group. After all the photos were taken we sat down and danced until it was time to eat. When it was, we had to stand behind the seat where we wanted to sit. We got called up table by table to get what we wanted to eat. After we ate we went into the hall and did karaoke and dance. Near the end of the night we did limbo and then we went home.

Poligons

Lately i have been learning about poligons and shapes. I have created a gif to show the differences. This shows how regular polygons have parralel lines and all sides are the same size. The irregular polygons show that the lines are not paralel or all the same legnth.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf
There once was a shepherd boy who was bored as he sat on the hillside looking after the village sheep. To amuse himself he took a great breath and yelled out, "Wolf! Wolf! The Wolf is chasing the sheep!"
The villagers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the wolf away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no wolf. The boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces.
"Don't cry 'wolf', shepherd boy," said the villagers, "when there's no wolf!" They went grumbling back down  the hill.
Later, the boy cried out again, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is eating the sheep!" To his naughty delight, he watched the villagers run up the hill to help him drive the wolf away.
When the villagers saw no wolf they sternly said, "Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'wolf' when there is NO wolf!"
But the boy just grinned and watched _______ go grumbling down the hill once more.
Later, he saw a REAL wolf prowling about his flock. Alarmed, he _________ to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Wolf! Wolf!"
But the villagers thought he was _________ to fool them again, and so they didn't come.
At sunset, everyone wondered why the _________ boy hadn't returned to the village with their sheep. They went up the hill to find the boy. They found him weeping.
"There really was a wolf here! ______ sheep have run away! I cried out, "Wolf!" Why didn't you come?"
An old man tried to comfort _________ boy as they walked back to the village.

Space Planning

This term we have been learning about space. We had to create a planning for our report on a planet of our choice, Lincoln and I chose this planet because it was the first one that came to mind.

Planning a Report

Use this template to help you plan your report about a planet of your choice.

Title: Uranus

Introduction (What will the report be about?)  This report is about Uranus,

Subheading 1 -

Can we Live on Uranus?

Picture

Paragraph 1 -

Uranus Is not Livable due to its Pressure, Temperature, Materials And it’s made of Water. If we did live on this planet it would take way too long to go back and forth just to get people, food, water, trees, livestock and all the other essentials. Since this planet is made of water we would need to have to make our own land, So therefore we can't live on this planet for all these reasons and more reasons too.

Caption - This is a picture of Uranus Captured from earth.

Fact box

  •  Did you know uranus is made of water, methane and ammonia fluids.

  •  Uranus Is the coldest planet in the Universe.

  • Uranus has 27 moons.

  • Uranus has Rings.

  • Uranus was discovered.

  •  Uranus is the furthest planet.

  • Uranus is named after a Greek god the sun.

Subheading 2

Is there life on Uranus?

Paragraph 2 -

Uranus’s environment is not conducive to Life forms. The material, temperature and pressures are most likely too violent and volatile for organisms to adapt to.

Glossary -

  • Livable - Survivable

  • Livestock - Animals

  • Essentials - Resources needed to survive

  • Organisms - an individual animal, plant, or single-celled life form.

  • Materials - A matter from which a thing is or can be made.

  • Temperature - How hot or cold the air is

  • Conducive - making a certain situation or outcome likely or possible.

Space Questions

How do people shower in space?

In space people dont shower, But they use liquid soap, water,                                                       and rinseless shampoo. They use rinseless soap with a                                                            little water to clean their hair. They use towels to wipe off the excess water. Here is a wensite to present my learning.

The Hail Storm

 Hail Storm

It was a dim cloudy day. I was reading a book as the neon lightning danced around the dark cloudy sky. I put the book down and looked outside. I saw that it was now raining more and now the cold wet rain has heavy, I turned away from the wet window and picked up the open book. I stared at the book for a while then turned to the window one again noticing that it was now hailing. I put the book back down again i walked to the cold window and started at the snow white hail as it fell from the dark cloudy sky tapping on my clear window. I watched the bright bolts flashed through the clouds as I stood in front of the window. The hail storm stopped and I went back to reading my book.

Te Ao Maori

This term we have been doing maori, In maori we had to name the studios of our school. This what we have been working on.

Walk To Spencer Park

Yesterday most of our class went to Spencer Park. We went in vans and in parents cars to Broad Park. When we got there we played on the playground while we waited for everyone to arrive. We went on our walk/run as the cold breeze drifted through the park. Our class went in groups for the walk/run. When we got to Spencer Park Ali and Mezza where cooking sausages on the barbeque. Everyone lined up and got a sausage. The sausage was warm and it made the bread warm and soft in you're hands. We walked back to where we put our bags, The class played on the playground for the rest of the time we where there.
